“Away we glow” highlighters by NYX – review

I am a huge highlighter fan and cannot live without it. It doesn’t matter, whether in winter or in summer, I always use a highlighter. It´s one of the most important steps in my makeup routine. That is why I enjoy trying out new highlighters of different textures, colors, and kind of luminosity. When I heard about NYX launching the new highlighter line “Away we glow”, I was very excited to try them. Finally, they reached Germany and I´m so glad to have them.

Unfortunately, there are only two shades on the European market from nine originally launched in the US. Of course, I purchased both as I liked the shades, which are the most universal shades in the whole line. The first one “liquid prism” is pearly white in the bottle which surprisingly turns to pinkish on the skin. The shade “state of flux” which is pinkish in the bottle, becomes a cool pearly white on the skin. If you look at the swatch I made for these products, you will see what I mean. Nonetheless, both of them are very beautiful.

As for the quality, it´s just amazing and the liquid highlighters can be applied in different ways. A few drops will create a nice, naturally-looking glow from within. Applying another layer will give you a strong, gorgeous glow to the moon and back. The best thing about these highlighters is the fact they are so easy to apply and blend. They also stay pretty and even the whole day long without looking cakey or wearing off. As for me, the “away we glow” highlighters are probably the best highlighters in the budget category. The only disadvantage of the highlighters is their storage life. To me, three months after having opened the product is a too short period of time. Even if I will use these highlighters every day (what I actually do), I wouldn´t use them up.

Conclusion:

NYX makes me happy with its new products every time. Many makeup products by this brand became my favorite ones. So, I love the Highlight & Contour Pro Palette (here), the liquid illuminator “Born to Glow” (here), the concealer “HD studio photogenic” (here) and much more. These highlighters conquered my heart. Frankly, what other budget products have such a great quality and beautiful shades as these bad boys? The price of my favorite highlighters starts at 20 EUR. Many less expensive products disappointed me. But these two guys are so great. You will love them, for sure, as you will create every kind of luminosity you prefer. The only thing I really regret is that there are only two shades from the whole “away we glow” line, which made their way to Europe. I would love to try more of these.
