Today, I want to speak with you about a topic that’s not so much into fashion or beauty but is not less important for many of us at the moment – winter is coming. Unfortunately, it is not about the new episode of game of thrones, which we have to wait for until 2019 as it seems to be, but the fact, that we have to get our gardens and balconies settled for winter time.

At the same time, you can use this opportunity to decorate your balcony or garden fitting to the actual season. So, let’s do this. As Halloween is coming, I will decorate my balcony a little bit creepy.

Creating the right atmosphere for Halloween

First, I put some artificial grass on the floor. Some may not like it but I feel comfortable with it. So I went to Hellweg’s website and ordered 2sqm of artificial grass. Beside I order some decoration in Hellweg’s online store but am also going to some decoration stores here in Düsseldorf, so that I have everything prepared right in time.

What do I have to take care of? As you can do it in any way you like, you can choose very different ways of decorating these spaces but make sure the materials and plants you use can stand the winter without breaking or dying or both. Especially in Germany and western Europe, fast-changing weather conditions make it inevitable to watch out for the appropriate materials. I added a few pumpkins, spiders and suitable candlesticks which after Halloween can easily be removed without ruining the look. Some of the items will be placed on my small wooden table, especially the spider which must be preserved from drowning.
