Autumn could be a great time of the year if it was as romantic as poets describe it. Long, romantic walks in parks full of beautiful yellow maple leaves, the last warm sun rays kissing the skin, and the beauty of nature. Unfortunately, there is barely anything beautiful outside in the middle of the season. The weather gets gray, cold, and rainy. Instead of taking a walk in the park we are trying to do our things as fast as possible and get home again. As clinical tests show, late autumn is not easy to deal with because the lack of vitamins causes fatigue and apathy. That is why it´s important to eat healthy food and do sports regularly. All this will give you more energy and power to be active during the day, even if it´s a gray and rainy one. Still, there are some tricks which can additionally help us to remain motivated and be in a good mood.
Light helps to be in a good mood
Light is the main thing we lack during fall and winter. A constant lack of sunlight affects the production of neurotransmitters which can cause a chronic fatigue and bad mood. Some people who react sensitively to the lack of sunlight can even get a depression. This is very important to have a daytime light at home in order to provide your brain and body with the energy that is needed in autumn. A daytime light can help to remain concentrated for a longer time and not to feel tired on a gray and rainy day. I personally purchased such a lamp years ago while being a student. Though this purchase wasn´t a cheap one, I didn’t regret having it, especially in autumn and winter. As I often work at home I use it every day and can see the difference. I feel much more motivated and full of energy.
Though a daytime light can be recommended for autumn and winter, it is more suitable for the day and early evening. In the contrary, a soft, warm light makes it possible to relax after a long productive day. For that, it’s always good to have small table lights in the room, giving you such a soft and relaxing light. When you add a scented candle a relaxed evening is guaranteed.
Use bright colors for a good mood
Especially in fall, when every day is grayer than the last one, it helps to wear bright colored clothes. They will make you look healthier and also enlight other peoples’ day. Happily, such colors like red, orange and other are very trendy. If you still prefer wearing a classic black coat or an olive colored parka, lovely colored underwear, like presented at Hunkemöller, are exactly what you are looking for.
I think we all know that neutral colors like black, white or beige are more practical and can be worn with more clothes in general but sometimes it feels so nice to wear something bold, which probably only you or and your partner can see. These kinds of underwear also look seductive on fair skin and make you feel more self-confident.
Relax at the end of the day
In fall we need more time to relax to gain new energy. That is why the right relaxation is an important part of self-care. Unfortunately, spending the whole evening on the couch and watching Netflix is not enough. I discovered the traditional relaxing meditation some time ago. It helps me to get along with my emotions and be able to listen to the signals my body sends me. I shared my story of how I learned to listen to my body through a negative experience. Since then I try to practice meditation regularly to relax and let bad emotion go. If meditation isn´t your issue, you can relax by simply taking a warm bath. There are so many different bath foams and salts which will give you a true wellness experience at home. After such a pleasant and well-smelling bath, you will feel relaxed for sure.
