It seems like you´ll see pictures inspired by the golden fall all December all on my blog. We still have all the traditional fall scenery in Dusseldorf with yellow and orange leaves and it´s barely possible to switch to the pre-Christmas buzz. But I´m not complaining about this weird fall situation because I actually enjoy it. It even inspires me to create colorful outfits which match the Halloween and Thanksgiving theme. This time, I decided to play mixing and matching with summer and fall pieces to show you that such combinations are not only possible but also look great together. The best thing about such styles is that you don´t even need to buy anything new because you can integrate your favorite summer pieces you already have onto your outfits.
Colorful palazzo pants – creating a cozy fall outfit
The most important thing in every outfit is keeping a chosen mood or a character. All pieces must work together so well that no one would even think about them not belonging together. Thinking of summer and fall clothes together, many of us might doubt whether such a combination is even possible. Well, different textures, fabrics might be tricky to put together but it´s still so many options for a great fall outfit. There are a few rules to make such pieces work together. E.g. Flattering summer skirts or colorful pants are very easy to style in fall. Skirts in the midi length look amazing with different sweaters. You can choose traditional cuts, one-shoulder or off-shoulder options. Sweaters with pleated skirts look especially beneficial. Still, choosing such a feminine skirt, you should stick to a slim fit sweater because chunky or oversized options won´t let you get that delicate look a lá Paris.
Picking summer pants, you´ll get much more styling options. The only thing you should decide for yourself is what kind of pants you prefer. I put on my favorite palazzo pants in a juicy yellow color. Though the pants are pretty wide, I added a slightly oversized sweater with trumpet sleeves to it. To make an accent on the waist, I put one side of the sweater into the pants. Additionally, this trick connected the two pieces and made them work in tandem. I also decided against a black bag because the color would be way too “heavy” for such a colorful and joyful combination. That´s why I picked the brown cross-body bag by Massimo Dutti. The brown color suits all the warm fall tones just perfect. As you can see, such an active summer piece like yellow palazzo pants can be easily transformed into a cozy and warm fall outfit. In one of my future posts, I will show you numerous ideas of how to wear summer dresses during late fall and winter. So, don´t hide them too deep in your wardrobe.
