Luxury brands: what are we paying for?

If you are interested in the news concerning huge, world-known fashion brands, you may probably have heard about numerous affairs some of them have been involved in. There are a plenty of dirty things such as pure animals which are held in almost unbelievable conditions or the collections which are made in China instead of France and Italy. All this makes it hard for us to trust such brands and want to spend our money on their products.

The more you pay, the more you get?

I personally love many luxury brands and I am ready to spend more money getting a great quality and a unique design. Though, I definitely don´t want to see on the label that the piece I want to spend my money on, wasn´t made in France or Italy. Of course, we all know that nowadays it´s all pretty much about money. That is why many brands relocate their production sites to such countries as China or Bangladesh and reduce their production costs. Still, such pieces are not getting cheaper because of the brand. Some of them don´t even want us to know that fact.

I´m wearing: dress by Uniqlo / biker jacket by Zara / boots by 5th. Avenue / earrings by Bijou Brigitte / 

It´s so sad that today the profit margins are more important than the quality of the products and sometimes even the reputation of a brand. Unfortunately, many fashion and makeup brands don´t have the same good quality as they used to have and it seems that they don´t care much about it. I always felt something magical and beyond happiness while purchasing an expensive item by a luxury label. Today, I don´t even know whether I buy something that was really made in Europe or I´m just being cheated on. I also had some bad experiences with the products which had been quite expensive. But all I wanted was just paying more money for something I could have had for a long time.

More truthful and transparent information about the pieces we purchase

Nonetheless, there are still great brands who care about their quality and make their items in France or Italy. I´m aware of the fact that we cannot know for sure where every single piece was manufactured. Wouldn´t it be great, if we had more possibilities to get the correct information about all these things and see that brands don´t have any skeletons in their closet?
