The romance trend – how to wear romantic dresses in a modern and stylish way

Hi, beauties! Summer is the best season to wear romantic dresses. It doesn’t matter, whether you´re on vacation or in the city. Romantic dresses are beautiful and comfortable to wear absolutely everywhere. And yeah, the romance trend is currently on trend. But to look modern and stylish, you should pay attention to some details and stick to some rules so that you don’t look like a Disney princess.

Less is more: no accessories and unnecessary details overload

When it comes to romantic dresses, or in general, the romantic style, such pieces are usually quite active and catchy. Ruffles, off-the-shoulder cuts and many other features of the style are often already there. For this reason, one should refrain from using additional accessories. So, don´t add too flashy necklaces, earrings, and Cinderella shoes to modern romantic outfits. These details will catapult any look directly towards those corny clichés and make you look retro-like (not in a positive way). When it comes to dresses and blouses in the romantic style, you should rather choose something simpler without too many bells and whistles, so that the cut speaks for itself.

Accessories that will always do and perfectly round up your “romantic” outfit

The nice thing about the romantic style is that it is very adaptable. With a balloon-sleeved blouse, jeans, and chunky sneakers you can put together a great sporty combination that is perfect for the city. A romantic dress can be beautifully rounded up with a straw bag and a straw hat. I would personally choose flat, braided sandals. They complete the whole outfit perfectly and style it down a little. That´s why you get that romantic outfit that will look modern and still retain its original Rococo vibe.

Colors and prints

For a modern street style look, neutral monochrome colors are the best. A print is also possible, but in this case, subtle floral prints and dots look much more advantageous. However, if you’re in the mood for a bold color (like I did in my today´s outfit), it should be the only active color that is framed by neutral accents. This is. The best base for a colorful and yet very harmonious outfit.

Fashion formula for trendy outfits:

Knotted cropped blouse + midi skirt + flat braided shoes and straw hat = a romantic outfit

Puff-sleeved blouse + jeans + sneakers = a nice casual outfit

Midi / maxi dress + chunky sneakers + belt bag = a cool sporty one

I´m wearing: dress by H&M / hat by Loewe / sandals by / bag by Topshop

How do you find the romantic style?

Love,

Daria
